Fun, No Batteries Required

Last week, Grandma Mary and Grandpa Jack came for a visit. The children were excited as we had not seen Grandma and Grandpa for nearly ten months (a deplorable span of time). Reminiscent of Santa, but with a suitcase rather than a sack, Grandma and Grandpa came bearing gifts of toys, clothing, and an especially made-for-littlest treasure box (Bop and Log having received theirs some time ago).

In spite of the toys, we enjoyed spending time with Grandma and Grandpa above all else: snuggles were plentiful; Daddy found time for golfing with Grandpa; Grandma hemmed pants and helped shop for school supplies (there is a notable inequity here, wink); we hiked a woodland nature quest; braved hoards of raucous children at Chuck E. Cheese; and wholly enjoyed the time spent together.

Grandma and Grandpa's stay passed much too quickly, and we are keen for the time we'll visit again! Some of my favorite memories from childhood are those I spent with my grandparents; it's lamentable that we should live so far away.
