Our Magical Disney Cruise

No sooner had the dust settled from our travels in Italy than we packed up again for our Mediterranean Disney Cruise.

One of J's co-workers had booked an extra room with the idea that his mother-in-law would be traveling with him and his family; unfortunately for J's co-worker, his mother-in-law was unable to come which became our good fortune as the room was offered to us.

Our cruise took us to Barcelona, Spain; Valletta, Malta; Tunis, Tunisia; Naples, Italy; Rome, Italy; Florence, Italy; Ajaccio, Corsica; and the French Riviera before returning to Spain.

Having never been on a cruise, I was unsure as what to expect but thought the worst: illness and massive waves which pounded the French Riviera a week before our cruise. I've now been told that no other ship, should we decide to cruise again, will measure up to Disney's line and I believe it. We had our own private, floating Disney World: no lines to greet characters, incredible food and character meals, fun activities including amazing kids clubs, pools, broadway-style Disney themed shows, live entertainment, an onboard spa.... I could wax poetic about the ship for hours on end, but I won't...for your sake.

Despite visiting new places, we were able to spend a relaxing 11 days with our kiddos that was filled with the stuff of happy memories.

More pictures posted throughout the week.

The girls really enjoyed all of the activities their clubs offered. They cooked with Chef Francine in the Ratatouille cooking school, made flubber, searched for Tink's stolen pixie dust with Peter, had a pajama party with Pluto, made oodles of crafts, and played until they were tuckered out.

The weather was just right on our cruise, and we had beautiful sunsets each night to boot.

Littlest must have seen every character at least twice. Jack Sparrow made her swoon!

The kiddie pool boasted a drive-in sized screen so that the kiddos could watch movies as they swam.

In case movies weren't enough, they could barrel down Mickey's slide!

Our ship at port!

Lifeboat drills; Log was terrified that we would sink like the Titanic and asked several times if the boats could accommodate all of the passengers.

The kids clubs were broken down by ages. Littlest's club was a pirate ship complete with nets and all of the Peter Pan regalia one could wish for.

Bop and Log stayed in the lab where they engaged in myriad activities.

As we walked on board ship, our name was called and our family was greeted by the staff.

Broadway-style shows were offered every other evening, and they were nothing short of spectacular.

The ship also hosted many special events and parties; some included fireworks!
