Capri

Having been to Naples, we decided to cast our net a bit wider and opted to go to Capri. We prearranged to have a private boat tour of the island. J and I laughed that we got off a ship to board a hydrofoil to catch a gozzo boat to ride in a row boat!

Our day in Capri was relaxing, and the kiddos enjoyed riding in the cushioned bow of the boat and taking in the beautiful scenery.

Emerald Grotto

Our Captain (for a brief time)

The Blue Grotto. In order to enter the grotto, it was necessary to ride in a rowboat through the narrow opening. Passengers in the row boats must lie in the boat's bottom as the rower pulls the boat through by grasping a lead line. Once inside the grotto, the sun's rays reflect off of the water making for the most amazing cerulean color.
