This July, we were fortunate enough to visit good friends for two days at the lake. Phil's parents graciously hosted us at their lake house, and we were able to meet baby John for the first time.
The kiddos enjoyed fishing, boating, and tubing. J and I enjoyed catching up with Phil and Carrie and spending time with their kiddos. J and the kiddos also got to witness a man catch himself on fire as he lit fireworks.

The boys tubing. When J signaled to stop the boat, he lost his grip and fell off of the tube. The boys followed suit thinking they were to also let go. Soon afterward, the boys started bobbing in the wake, and Log was hit with a wave of panic. Happy feeling gone. Phil and one his friends gallantly jumped into the water and swam out to the boys who were by this time crying. Note to J: no need to signal so ferociously next time!
