Bop's Week of Accolades

Halloween marked the birthday of Juliette Gordon Low, the founder of Girl Scouts. Bop's brownie troop celebrated Mrs. Low's birthday with cupcakes and crafts. The troop leaders also passed out the first trio of earned Try-It patches to the girls. The girls were awarded patches for Girl Scout Ways, Girl Sports, and Senses.

Friday marked 'First Friday' at Sacred Heart where all of the students attend Mass and participate in an assembly. Catherine was awarded the Student of Month for demonstrating the virtue of 'prayerfulness' throughout the month of October. Bop's teacher explained that prayerfulness encompasses more than fervent prayer: prayerfulness is praying, listening to God, and acting in a way that pleases God. Bop's teacher said that Bop is a thoughtful child who goes to God in prayer often and acts in a way that exemplifies God's word; of course, we knew this, but Bop was happy to receive the certificate. We are very proud of her!

In the video below, you will first hear Bop's teacher thanking the fourth graders who aided in Mass and acknowledging the second graders who performed a skit entitled, "A Turkey For Thanksgiving."
