This blog is a means to keep our extended family in the United States abreast of happenings in our family as we explore Europe. The blog also doubles as a journaling tool for me as I strive to keep pace with our little ones while balancing other facets of my life. Thank you for taking the time to read about our lives and adventures!
While the boys were away for Labor Day weekend, the girls decided to play, too! My Italian friend and I booked train tickets to Paris for ourselves and our girls. We booked our hotel in Versailles so that we could walk to and from the chateau's last spectacle of the season. We weren't sure the show would be a go as it rained and the sky was lit with bright streaks of lightning all afternoon. Luckily, in the late evening, the sky cleared enough for the show to occur!
While in Paris, we...
...spent time in Shakespeare&Co where the girls sequestered themselves in a first floor nook and read books while listening to soft piano music being played in the next room. Bop found an Everyman's book of poetry, and Littlest picked out a CHILDREN'S book on the life of Coco Chanel (only in Paris :) Incidentally, it was this shop which caused us to nearly miss our train home!
...pretended to be scary gargoyles
...ate poulet rôti at a streetside cafe
...noshed on mini macaroons in Ladurée's tea room
...pretended to swim in Monet's water lily canvasses and took pictures in the Louvre
