Biking Along the Rhein*

J, Log, a friend of ours (who kindly let J use his second tandem bike) and our friend's son planned and executed a bike ride along the Rhein River over Labor Day weekend. Heavy rainfall eventually forced them to cut their trip short which resulted in their riding 60 of the planned 100 miles.

Log was especially excited as the trip meant spending 'guy time' with daddy. Everything else was secondary to daddy time including the camping bit and sightseeing (which encompassed a trip to a gummy mecca!).

The boys rode a train to Koblenz, which served as a kind of home base as they made side trips to Bonn and Remagen. They visited the house in which van Beethoven was born, the Haribo factory (J was in HEAVEN there), the bridge at Remagen, and several churches.
