Though the day was blustery, Easter was genial. We had every intention of attending the sunrise service but overslept which is just as well since such services can tend to be a bit unctuous (besides which, one of the kiddos was under the weather).We treated ourselves to a sizable breakfast in spite of the fact that the kiddos gorged themselves on inordinate amounts of chocolate upon waking. Matty seemed to like the notion of the Easter bunny!
In the afternoon, we went for a hike and picnicked at Hessian Lake before being overtaken by the chill. Here, with spring upon us, we thought of Easter in the religious sense and were thankful for our risen Lord.
For dinner, we had a sumptuous Italian meal at the home of our friends, the Palazzos, who were gracious enough to host our raucous brood.
