Happy Hearts Day!

Valentine's Day was something of a bust due to a winter storm that canceled school. The kiddos were quite disappointed that there were no parties to attend, but we earnestly tried to make the most of the day in spite of the lack of cupcakes and candy galore.

We went sledding, built a snowman and snacked on hot chocolate and treats we made together.

Matty, acting stealthily, hid in a closet and ate about 30 of the Hershey's kisses that Aunt Nicole and Uncle Jesse sent to the kiddos (thank you for the goodies!). Not being satiated, Matty then spied some of Daddy's Valentine candy but quickly met his end: J's candy consisted of Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans, Slugs, and Chocolate Frogs in a nod to Harry Potter, which he recently read.

Unfortunately for Matty, he discovered the beans and ate an earwax flavored one that was instantaneously regurgitated. I must say that the oddly flavored beans, sausage, pickle, vomit and dirt among others, truly do taste like the items they emulate.
