Having run through my summer reading, I find myself scanning my bookshelves for something to tide me over until my next shipment from Amazon arrives. I've never one been one much for contemporary literature and tend to gravitate toward those books who occupy positions on lists of literary canon (don't worry: some of my reading is relegated to a stack of People magazines stashed in my bedside table). Below is a list of 10 works of literature that I never tire of reading and whose bindings are pitifully split:
