Though we didn't see any fireworks or nosh on barbecue and potato salad (unless you count jacket potatoes with Kräuterquark), we enjoyed spending the Fourth of July at Legoland, which Little Man proclaimed was his 'dream' destination. The kiddos loved the knight and pirate kingdoms, the lego Fabrik and the gift shop, of course.
Log and Littlest could barely contain themselves as we approached the gate; I was lucky they paused for a picture!
The park was large enough to fill an entire day, while the rides truly were geared toward young children with the exception of two or three roller coasters. Littlest tried her hand at driving on one of the racetracks; she doesn't handle curves well.
Part of the park featured scale models of European landmarks including Neuschwanstein Castle seen below (Venice, too!).
My Einstein in front of a lego one which played on a double entendre: Einstein's name and ein Stein, German for a block (or stone literally speaking)!
Hands down best ride at the park. This ride did not caution that you 'may' get wet, it guaranteed that you would. Passersby manned stations on the ride's fence line while those on the ships shot at each other with hand-cranked water cannons. It was possible to take aim and drench those waiting in line to board the ships! J stripped the kids barring their underwear, removed his own shirt and boarded the ship. Because I was the only fully dressed person aboard our ship, I was the logical target and often felt the streams of four or more cannons on my back or face.
