At the Age of Seven, He Still Believes

Little man is a whopping seven years old!  To celebrate his birthday, we flew to London for a long weekend in order to see the production of Peter Pan at Kensington Gardens, a monumental occasion when one considers that a production has never been permitted in the gardens and Barrie met the family upon whom characters in the book were based in the gardens.  Prior to going, we set out to read Barrie's book, and now the kids refer to Disney's production as 'The Fake Peter Pan' and were astonished that Tinkerbell speaks naughty words in the book.

I was glad to see that though he's getting older, Log still believes in fairies. We had a wonderful weekend celebrating our compassionate, thoughtful and loving Log.

Kiddos at Tower of London.  Can you believe the blue skys?  No rain during our four day stay which is a first for my London visits!  The Crown Jewels fascinated Littlest, who I was surprised to learn could call various precious stones by their proper names.
J took part in demonstrating how a period trebuchet type weapon operated.

Doesn't this sidewalk art (visible from the Jubilee Bridge) make you want to sing 'Chim Chiminy' and look for Bert?

A kitschy and necessary shot taken in King's Cross station ;)

During the performance, which was housed in a tent, Littlest rang her fairy bell with all her might to keep Tink's light from going out!  Peter Pan was magical!

Log's birthday dinner was really enjoyable; he had raspberry jelly with smarties for dessert!  Daddy had Bop bursting at the seams with laughter.

J and the kiddos climbed atop the massive lions located at the base of Nelson's column.
The Queen celebrated her official birthday the day before our visit to Buckingham.
